UAE strongly condemns terror attack in Afghanistan

The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
The UAE has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted a guest house in the Afghan province of Lugar and left scores of civilians killed and injured.
In a statement on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) emphasised that the UAE utterly condemns these criminal acts and rejects all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at destabilising security and stability in contravention of all religious and human values and principles.

SpaceX splashdown: Astronauts leave ISS, begin return journey to Earth

With the flight back to Earth expected to take six-and-a-half hours, the crew was scheduled to splash down in the dark of night off Panama City.
Four astronauts left the International Space Station on Saturday aboard a SpaceX vessel, after more than 160 days in space which will culminate in a splash landing off the Florida coast.

The Crew Dragon capsule undocked from the ISS as scheduled at 8:35 pm (0035 Sunday GMT). With the flight back to Earth expected to take six-and-a-half hours, the crew was scheduled to splash down in the dark of night off Panama City, Florida, in the Gulf of Mexico at 2:57 am.

Mosques across the country will host the voluntary late night Ramadan prayer called Qiyam-ul-layl from tonight, May 2.
The special prayers are offered during the last 10 days of the holy month of Ramadan. The prayer, which usually lasts for hours, will be capped at 30 minutes. It will be offered from 12 midnight to 12.30am. The mosques will be closed as soon as the prayer is offered. I tikaf (retreat at mosques) will not be allowed. Worshippers are to wear masks at all times.

Pope Francis kicked off a month-long marathon of worldwide Roman Catholic prayer on Saturday to ask God for an end to the Covid-19 pandemic, and said money spent on armaments should be used instead to prevent future outbreaks.
Francis presided at the recital of the rosary in St. Peter s Basilica on the first day of May, a month Roman Catholics traditionally dedicate to daily prayer to the Madonna.
